A soft glowing sky settles over Beaumont, TX -- hopefully a sign of better times to come as the region tries to recover from the torrential deluge with which Harvey swamp our area.

Flecked, brushed, hatched and pied, this sunset from last week caught my eye as it gave calm comfort to the ending of a busy day.

Setting sun can't quench boiling mad storm

This was part of the thunderstorm that violently boiled up over our house at sunset yesterday.  The storm dumped about two inches of rain as the daylight faded.

Night-fall boast by rushing storm

This night-fall-rushing front blowing off from a thunderstorm over Beaumont didn't bring any rain for our area, but sure boasted it wanted to.

Light-saber aloft

Last night, light-saber like, a rainbow picks up just enough of the sun's last rays to pierce the shield of clouds clambering above us.

Eclipse slips to the west

The Moon takes a bite out of the Sun in today's eclipse, but the clouds are waiting to devour the remains at the Sun slips below the horizon.  The shot is Beaumont Texas, where we were told to expect the moon to cover about 40 percent of the sun at sundown.    The folks on up through the west of the United State will enjoy the better views of the eclipse  -- our time is gone.
